Our Aircraft

Samba XL

The Samba XL is a 2 seater trainer. It is a popular trainer mostly due to the fact that it is very affordable due to it being made of composite materials and having a 100hp Rotax engine. It also has an advanced cockpit with an electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) and this makes it well-liked among the younger students. The Samba is a good stepping stone to move on to other aircraft as it establishes a sound flying foundation for students.

Piper Cherokee 180

The Piper Cherokee 180 is widely considered the “Old Faithful” of training aircraft and is one of the world’s most used for this purpose due to its reliability and ease to fly. It is a 4 seater aircraft fitted with a 180hp Lycoming engine. It’s well equipped with ILS, VOR and ADF which makes it brilliant for Instrument training. The Cherokee is used for ab-initio as well as advanced training and night ratings. It is also a great touring aircraft for 2 – 3 people with luggage, and is equipped with an autopilot which is useful on longer flights.

Cessna 182

The Cessna 182 is famous for its bush flying ability. It is a superior aircraft to negotiate short and rough landing strips with its tough landing gear and 235hp engine. It is easy to fly and is more advanced with its variable pitch propeller and higher cruising speed. This is an aircraft that can easily take off with 4 people on board with all their luggage, one of the few true 4-seaters. The 182 can be used for ab-initio training (not recommended) as well as advanced training and night flying. It is used for our bush and mountain flying course.

Mooney Ovation

The Mooney Ovation is a high performance aircraft with a cruising speed of 175 knots. It is not for beginners due to its speed and numerous systems that need to be operated. It is equipped with a 280hp fuel injection engine, a retractable undercarriage and speed brakes to name just a few of these more advanced systems. The pilot workload is very high on the Mooney and it’s equipped with excellent instruments, both these make it great for advanced training.

Piper Seneca IV

This is our Twin Engine trainer. This aircraft is equipped with 2 x 220hp turbocharged engines. It has all the radio equipment you’ll need to finish your commercial pilot license. With its turbocharged engines it is excellent for training at our high altitude bases and is the perfect aircraft to operate out of dirt and short strips with 4 – 6 people on board.
